Hello CMIT Parents! I am very excited to start what is going to be an awesome school year! I am new to CMIT this year, but this is not my first rodeo. I am a graduate of the Howard County Public School System where, after graduating, I attended Howard Community College. After transferring to Morgan State University, I received my BA degree in Elementary Education. I earned my MS degree in Math Instruction from Ashford University.
I have been a teacher in Prince George’s County Public Schools for 13 seasons, all at Deerfield Run E.S! In that time I took on many leadership roles including 4th grade lead teacher, Science Coordinator, and STEM Fair Coordinator. In addition, I was the 2015 Christa McAuliffe Outstanding Teacher Award recipient!
All that being said, it is my goal to use my STEM expertise and leadership abilities to equip your children with the tools they need to thrive in the 21st Century. This means strengthening math computation and problem solving skills, the increased use of technology, the integration of engineering, and building a strong science vocabulary. Furthermore, students will read various sorts of text, and produce writing pieces all in a nurturing, safe, and fun environment!
I hope for the success of all my students and I know that with OUR collaborative effort, that success is assured! Let’s ROOOAR for the 4th grade Tigers!
Thank you, Ms. Webb
